Project #3

Project #3 is a tribute to Italian car designer Marcello Gandini, and his legacy to design.

He created several iconic cars, for manufacturers such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, or Bugatti. He also worked on mass production cars, for Renault, Citroën or BMW.

His vision influenced many designers in the automotive industry, and we at YXXI know what we owe him.

Project #3 is inspired by the Bertone Stratos Zero prototype, released in 1970 at the Torino car show.

The challenge for YXXI was to keep as close as possible to original lines and volumes of the car, to create a yacht that would support the spirit of the original drawing.

This yacht is 73.8 m (240") long, 14.40 m (46") wide, and has a 3.42 m (10") draft.

Guests : 12  /  Crew : 22

She makes wide use of electrochromatic glass, which allows side windows to be transparent, or teinted in black and white to keep the visual aspect of the Stratos Zero protoype.

This glass also allows sun and privacy protection, with dimmable manual or automatic transparency control depending on external conditions.

Most rooms are equipped with floor-to-ceiling glass surfaces, to give a wide view on the exterior and enhance the connection with the environment.

On the sundeck, a sofa organised around a fireplace reminds the original Stratos Zero design. It also features a jacuzzi, and free space to have a drink, organize a party, or install gym equipment.

The front part of this deck is occupied by the cockpit, and an additional space that could be arranged as a gym club.

The deck below is dedicated to owner's suite (front), guests suites and captain's cabin. Two of the guests suites have their own private balcony overlooking the swimming-pool.

At the bow, a mobile lifting platform gives access to another lounge equipped with a jacuzzi and sunbath. In front of this lounge, space is available for entertainment and helicopter landing platform.

From this place, an exterior promenade on both sides of the superstructure leads to stairs down to the deck below.

This deck is occupied by guests living areas, such as main saloon and main terrace.

Front part of the deck also includes galley, laundry, service areas and mooring room.

On both sides of the terrace, stairs leads to the beach club at water level.

The beach club features shady and sunny sofas to enjoy the sea at any time of the day, and a swimming pool (8 x 3 metres).

2 lower decks include all crew quarters, engine room, technical spaces, tenders and toys area.

On each side of the hull, folding doors allow easy tenders operation, and additional space to make the most of the sea.

The yacht is equipped with a limousine tender, a service tender, and many toys to entertain on the sea or on the ground.

The limousine tender is 10 metre long and reproduces the original lines of the yacht.
